Throughout the years since my sighting I have told a handful of people about it. It's not the kind of thing you volunteer when you first meet someone. Most people can not handle it. You might as well tell them you had lunch with Bigfoot or took a ride on Nessie's back. Telling an acquaintance about your UFO sighting can cause them to walk away and avoid you because obviously you are crazy, right? Especially if you go into detail - although it is the details which can convince someone so it is important to illustrate them.
Most of the time when I tell people my story they say they believe that I believe what I saw. They do not say that they do, themselves. It is condescending, though I am sure most people do not intend it to be that way. They are trying their best to play along with something they are having difficulty processing. My wife believes me. But then she had her own experience. More on that in a future post. A good friend of mine says he believes me now, although I think he was skeptical for many years. It seems to have taken a sighting by his own mother to turn him on to the idea that maybe there is something to this.
Several times, when I would be hanging out with this same friend, he would ask me why I was just sitting on this information. If it was really true, why was not I shouting it from the rooftops? The simple answer is because people who do that are labeled as psychos. Maybe some of those amongst us are a little wacky. I don't want to be associated with that. I have a business to run. I have kids who have to face other kids in school. I could not do that to them.
I Believe
Still, my friend kept saying that if it was him he would change everything about his life. He would make it his cause to take action. That resonated with me. I can not say it set the dominoes falling. That started when I got a response from Lue Elizondo. But it was on my mind when my wife sent me the link to the New York Times article on Lue.
So here I am, several months later, with a blog, preparing to launch a Podcast and YouTube channel. I never imagined I would do this. But it seems like a fait accompli at this point.
Things are progressing quickly. I now have my Twitter and Instagram accounts re-purposed for the project and I created a new public Facebook page - it is so new I can not even choose an address for it. I will post it when it is available. Please Like the page so I can give it a name. And link to the other social media for the latest info on project updates and news on sightings. I have got the blog and it is gaining traction. I began scheduling interviews yesterday so I can begin production in mid-October. I still have not settled on a hosting platform but there is time for that. I am getting together with couple friends who are doing Podcasts, to share notes. In the meantime I need to start doing the interviews.
